Russian Orthodox Epiphany 2007

Moscow, Russia, 18/01/2007.
Russian priests and Orthodox believers celebrate Epiphany at Serebryany Bor in northern Moscow. Normally all rivers and lakes are frozen at this time of year, and the ceremony takes place on the frozen lake, with the believers being baptised in holes in the ice. However Moscow is experiencing its warmest winter ever, with the temperature plus 3 Celsius today, in contrast to minus 30 during last year's holiday.
